Euroson
America was founded in 1989 as an Import Distribution Company
focused on European Technology products for Consumer and Professional
markets. Our first products were Hi Fidelity components from
German companies Dual and HECO. Later that year, high end audio
components from Electrocompaniet of Norway were added to the
portfolio. Alphason of England also selected Euroson to distribute
its line of quality audio component furniture.
In 1990 Euroson became the US distributor
for the German coin operated Jukebox Manufacturer NSM, for
all non coin operated versions of their CD Changers. Working
together with NSM, Philips, and Harmon Associates, Euroson
developed TrakScan® our own Broadcast Automation systems incorporating
multiple redundant CD changers and Bar code technology to provide
an easy to use playback system for radio stations. In 1993,
we introduced the NSM3101, a combination of NSM CD Changer
and Philips CD player, which was the worlds first 100 disc
CD changer system for the hi end residential market.
That same year we undertook a development
that was to change the course of the company. Working with
INTOUCH Group and Phillips LMSI, the NSM changer was adapted
to CD-ROM technology to create a storage device for use in
Music preview kiosks for Music Retailers. Audio clips, artist
information, and graphics were combined to allow customers
to browse and preview over 30,000 music titles from a single
free standing kiosk. Over 1000 systems, using more than 3000
NSM CDR100 changers were produced.
With the success of the CDR100, Euroson
was quickly established as a leader in the field of CD ROM
changers for the data storage market. An alliance with software
vendor Smart Storage provided file system access to these CD
ROM libraries. Euroson then developed a sales channel which
included Distributors and OEM customers including Kodak and
Pinnacle Micro.
By 1994, Euroson was working
with NSM, IBM, Hewlett Packard and others to develop a new
generation of devices designed specifically for the data
storage marketplace. Later that year we introduced the NSM
Mercury. With its compact size, multiple drives, mail slot
and fast reliable mechanism, the Mercury received numerous
accolades, and would go on to become the best selling data
jukebox of all time. OEM customers for the Mercury included
Kodak, MDI, Plasmon, and others. During its life span, the
Mercury would see the addition of recorder drives, and DVD
technology. These new capabilities led us to seek out a new
partner for software development, and in 1996 Euroson became
a partner with PoINT Software & Systems to develop and market advanced software applications for network management
of jukeboxes.
When NSM established its own US subsidiary
in 1997, Euroson shifted its focus toward the sales and marketing
of Point Software products. Euroson has since delivered more
than 1200 PoINT software licenses for every jukebox hardware
model and type.
Today, the focus of the company is in
providing Data Storage Management solutions which are targeted
towards meeting regulatory compliance and long term data retention
policies. As the Master Distributor of PoINT Software and MDI we offer
numerous products which provide high capacity permanent storage
of digital information using all storage technologies.
Key markets are Medical, Law Enforcement, Government, Military
and Financial Services.
Combining our software and hardware products we are able to offer a complete range of storage management
systems including MDI Servers and RAID systems with software
products from PoINT to create a unique range of products which support the direct connection of Optical and Tape
Library systems, automated Disc Publishing Systems as well as hosted data storage. These are custom configured systems,
integrated and tested to meet the requirements of compliant
archival storage applications. Our products are sold throughout
the United States and Canada by a network of trained system
integrators and Value Added Resellers.
